Adopt a Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Rocky is a fun loving, smart little boy who is ready to tackle the world!  Rocky came to us from a small shelter in Rocky Ford, CO with no known previous history.  We are guessing that he is a Chihuahua mix and about 10 weeks old.  We are also guessing that he will be a small-medium sized dog.

Rocky loves all people and dogs.  He is a high energy boy who has learned to walk on a leash and loves going on walks with his doggie pack.  He loves to play with other dogs and with his toys, but loves his person just as much and will follow you around for attention and play time.  Rocky is a very smart, inquisitive boy and is always exploring and learning.  If there’s not enough stimulation and fun for him, he will find it!  He sleeps well through the night in his x-pen and is starting to learn potty training with lots of guidance.

Rocky will need a forever home that will give him daily walks and that will continue to challenge his smart little brain so that he doesn’t get into mischief.  Rocky will do best in a home, not an apartment, because he is full of lots of rambunctious play energy that will likely bother neighbors below or that share a wall.  He would love a doggie friend to live with, but it’s not essential as long as he could have fun play dates.  We did not neuter Rocky, yet, due to his young age and being so small, but a neuter voucher is available with adoption.

If you are interested in adopting Rocky please submit an adoption application located on our website, www.coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $290.00 adoption donation for Rocky  as well as $50 for the spay/neuter deposit that will be returned when CCR receives confirmation that he has been neutered. The spay/neuter must be done within 90 days of adoption. .  Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter.   Please note that even house trained dogs will have accidents when adjusting to a new home.
